Film Club

AMERICAN DREAM
Film Club Series
A Teaching American History program funded by the U.S. Department of Education
2011-2012

The New York City Department of Education’s American Dream Film Club is collaboration between The Paley Center for Media and the NYC Department of Education designed to provide teachers with materials and strategies to effectively use mainstream and independent films in conjunction with the American history curriculum.

Participating American history teachers will meet for four sessions over the course of the year. Participants will receive film selections prior to the workshop dates. We hope that participants will attend all four sessions. Facilitators will lead historical and pedagogical sessions on strategies for utilizing each film in the classroom. Teachers will be admitted to the series on a first come, first served basis.
